Computers and Design Forum - a Bright Green Marketing case study

Case Study: Startup seminar program

The Challenge:
Creative Imaging Technologies (CIT, now Adobe Scene7), a software and Internet startup, had developed revolutionary imaging and virtualization software for the interior design marketplace. The software was easy to use and would enable designers to save countless hours searching for, specifying and building presentation boards for surface design materials like fabric, wallpaper, carpet, tile, countertops and flooring.

However, the target segment of interior designers was notoriously computer averse and would be reluctant adopters of new technology.

The Solution:
Teach designers how to use a computer and the value of other software to help manage their business, in the form of an accredited, self-funding educational seminar. CIT’s “Computers and Design Forum” traveled to major cities throughout the U.S. and was co-sponsored by other companies that provided accounting, business management, drawing and other software to the interior design trade.

The Results:
Creative Imaging reached over 2,000 design professionals in two years. The course was one of the best-evaluated and most popular seminars in the ASID/IIDA continuing education curriculum during that time. Designers learned how to use computers, and most importantly, CIT sold thousands of copies of its software as a result.
